Times are tough and so people are coming up with very creative gifts for their family and friends. So, if your tight on cash this year, you and Aunt Flo can sit down and make some bedroom slippers this holiday season.

You need four maxi pads to make a pair.
Two of them get laid out flat, for the foot part.
The other two wrap around the toe area to form the top.
Tape or glue each side of the top pieces to the bottom of the foot part.

Decorate the tops with whatever you desire.

These slippers are:

* Built in deodorant feature keeps feet smelling fresh
* No more bending over to mop up spills
* Disposable and biodegradable
* Environmentally safe

Don’t pull a Ben Stiller “Cat Milking stunt” when you MEET THE PARENTS!!

meet-the-fockers-photo.jpg

The holidays are coming and that very well may mean you’ll be meeting your boyfriends parents for the FIRST TIME!!  That can be nerve-racking!!  So, MSN.com came up with tips for you to leave the best impression possible!

Be present: If you are too focused on your appearance, his parents will know it! Heather, 29 explains, “I met my boyfriend’s parents at a party, and I have a huge zit on my nose. I was so busy worrying about it that I couldn’t focus on the conversation. At the end of the night, my boyfriend asked me why I’d been so aloof. If I could relive that day, I’d acknowledge my ginormous pimple with a joke and spend the rest of the time focusing on the people I’d come to be with.”

Don’t overspend to impress: You don’t want his parents giving you a title after the first meeting so keep things simple. It’s not a good idea to go all out on expensive gifts to suck up. Jill, 40, says her husband’s ex sent his parents a very expensive thank-you bouquet after her first dinner date at their house. “That poor girl will forever be referred to by my in-laws as The Show-Off.”

Volley the hard questions to him: Make sure when you’re asked tough questions by the parents, always make sure the final answer comes from your boyfriend or in this case, your fiance. Christine, 26, says, “My guy and I were already engaged when I met his mom. She asked if I wanted her engagement ring. But we had already found one that suited me better, so I politely declined. She apparently took this as the ultimate rejection. Our relationship would probably be better today if I’d thanked her, then turned to my fiance and asked, ‘What do you think, honey?’ She still wouldn’t have liked the answer, but it would’ve been his reply, not mine.”

Drink in moderation: When meeting his parents for the first time, it’s never a bright idea to drink too much at dinner to the point of being completely out of it. Or drink so much the night before you have a vicious hang-over!!   Laura, 27  says, “I was hung-over when I met my fiance’s parents at brunch, and, believe me, there’s nothing like vomiting in a restaurant bathroom to shatter a girl’s confidence.”

Treat them like friends, not fogies: Talking about the weather and local news gets old quick! It’s good to treat his parents like people and not just a parent. Come up with more interesting topics that actually sparks an interesting conversation.
